Tragedy in western Galilee: A two and a half year old girl was killed Saturday after her mother inadvertently ran her over with her car, outside their Tamra family home.
Initial details suggest that the mother backed the car out of the driveway and did not notice the toddler was on the road.
The girl was rushed to the community's medical facility, but doctors were unable to save her.
Dr. Samer Dian, head of the al-Zaharawi medical clinic, to which the toddler was taken, told Ynet that the girl was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.
"She had no signs of trauma on her body. Her death was most likely cause by a head injury. The mother, 25, also needed medical attention, upon learning of her daughter's death."
Superintendent Eitan Raz of the Galilee District Highway Police added that the family had been deposed and the investigation was ongoing.
